Achuth / Mechanical engineering
PORTFOLIO IN PROGRESSCuriosity, modeled.
Ideas, made tangible.
I'm Achuth. I explore the intersection of mechanics, electronics, and physiology through hands-on engineering projects.
Explore my work01 / MECHANICAL DESIGN · ROBOTICS
Prosthetic robotic hand
From a digital assembly to a working mechanism.
A personal project exploring the design, fabrication, and actuation of a 3D-printed prosthetic robotic hand.
Engineering focus
Connecting mechanical design with hands-on fabrication and control. This case study will document the assembly, design iterations, and grasp demonstrations.
Documentation to develop
Add measured range of motion, repeatability, grip testing, and the design changes informed by those results as testing progresses.
02 / GRADUATE RESEARCH · COMPUTATIONAL MODELING
Cardiovascular simulation
Exploring physiology through a computational model.
My graduate project at UC Davis: a Julia-based lumped-parameter cardiovascular model for exploring the behavior of the circulatory system.
Engineering focus
Representing cardiovascular subsystems and their interactions in a modular simulation. The case study will explain the model architecture, assumptions, and selected simulation conditions.
Documentation to develop
Pair each graph with the simulation condition, labeled axes and units, and a short interpretation. Include validation methods and model limitations alongside the results.
03 / BIOMEDICAL INSTRUMENTATION · EMBEDDED SYSTEMS
Holter monitor
Following the signal from acquisition to visualization.
A personal ECG monitoring prototype exploring signal acquisition, embedded electronics, data recording, and waveform visualization.
Engineering focus
Bringing sensing, electronics, and packaging into one prototype. The case study will trace the signal path and explain how the components fit inside the enclosure.
Documentation to develop
Document signal quality, sampling settings, recording duration, and power measurements as they are verified. Explain how the displayed ECG is scaled and processed.
Educational prototype. Not validated for clinical use.
Behind the projects
A little about me.
My background is in mechanical engineering, with graduate research in cardiovascular modeling at UC Davis. I'm interested in how thoughtful mechanical design, embedded systems, and simulation can work together.
This portfolio follows three projects as their documentation develops, from CAD assemblies and physical prototypes to model architecture and experimental outputs.
Let's connect.
Contact details, professional links, and a résumé will be added as this portfolio takes shape.
